As vice president of communications, Denise Spiegel leads the communication strategy and development of organizational messaging that supports Visit Orlando’s mission, vision, business objectives and values, and delivers them to internal and external audiences. Prior to this role, Spiegel served as Visit Orlando’s senior director of public relations overseeing publicity efforts leading a team of in-house representatives and agencies around the world.
Her work at Visit Orlando has been recognized with numerous industry awards that include several PRSA Silver Anvil Award of Excellence and HSMAI Platinum and Gold Adrian Awards. She currently serves on the US Travel Association Communications Committee and Destinations International PR and Communications Committee.
Before joining Visit Orlando in 2006, Spiegel started her communications career at one of the world’s leading global public relations agencies, Fleishman Hillard, in the Los Angeles office. She developed and implemented strategic communications plans for a broad array of clients, including AT&T, Yahoo News and Yahoo Finance properties, Nike and Panda Express. Spiegel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communication and business administration from Houghton University.
